Sony Video Unlimited films to Chromecast

I have recently received a Chromecast, and wondered if anyone had any experience of playing films purchased through the Sony Video Unlimited service on it?
Films from the Sony service (which can be downloaded) are in the .mnv format, which seems to be a bespoke Sony format for purchased content. This is not a standard format supported by Chromecast so, for example, if you try to mirror screen while the film is playing on your phone it doesn't show up.
Has anyone ever managed to play a film purchased from Sony through their Chromecast?
