ParkingEye ticket advise please

Options
Received a parking ticket in September. Was attending a course in hotel and parking was free for hotel patrons. Car was picked up by entrance and exit camera and PCN sent.

Letters sent- I ignored as that's the usual PCN advise.

They then sent summons to small claims court.

So I contacted the hotel who confirmed my attendance and provided evidence of this.

They have now sent an offer for settlement which I dispute paying. They state within terms and conditions of parking signage, patrons have to register car registration number at reception to gain free parking.

So in this letter I have a Directions questionnaire (small claims track) and a reply to defence which also states that appeals should be received within 28 days and that all defence should be submitted via the court with a N244 form and appropriate fee.

I have contacted simply to state that I wish to receive a POPLA verification code.

Although it says I need to complete form N180 Directions questionnaire (small claims track), and return by 5 January :-S

Please advise- I feel I'm being trampled by the big guns :-(

Ignoring has not been advised for nearly two years now - esp where Parking Eye are concerned.

Going through the hotel to get this canceled/withdrawn is a very valid option but you need to get yourself into the Newbies Sticky to see your current situation and other options for defending this.

So you have 'defended' the claim have you, now you are at DQ stage you must have done? I really hope you didn't just write that you want POPLA - that is NOT a defence and your best bet is to write to the Court to ask for a stay for POPLA or for the Beavis case. Let's hope your local court agrees because you are going to lose if this goes to a hearing, your defence sounds as bad as this one:

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/parkingeye-win-in-court-shooting-fish.html

Re that victim = 'What an idiot' was the general opinion - fancy not researching how to defend a ParkingEye claim. He even had the Parking Prankster show up to watch the case (unannounced) and the victim never knew what the defence could have been, and that the Prankster, if he had contacted him, could have even helped him at the hearing! Shooting fish in a barrel for PE, don't let that happen to you for the sake of not Googling & reading matters!

So, as I said, you need to complete the DQ and then send a letter to your local court once allocated, to try to get the claim STAYED (your best hope is to hang onto the coat-tails of Beavis). Read post #5 of the NEWBIES sticky thread (all links but only post #5). It also has a link, the first link in post #5 called 'Advice...', from bargepole with advice on how to complete the Directions Questionnaire (so the info you needed was here all the time).

DO NOT pay their silly £60. Why should you? We know all about that offer, seems you weren't ready for any of it. What a shame you never looked into the current advice as it changed in 2012 and we win every single time at POPLA! Let's hope we can help you claw this back. Someone got their PE case stayed for the Beavis outcome (claim frozen until March) only this week, simply by following our advice.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
