  • Afternoon everyone.

I'd be happy for it to be a rolling thread...no idea if there is a reason it hasn't been before or not.

Lazy day here today really. Hubby wrapped his presents finally and I saw the midwife this morning for a check up, but that's about it.
Currently relaxing on the sofa watching chicken run whilst DS is napping and enjoying not having anything to do at all :D
Sure I will have loads to do tomorrow though as I have to pack for a few days at my parents house after Christmas and still need to write up the meals on the blackboard so I know what we've got planned foodwise between xmas and new year.
Part of me wants to cook some meals for the freezer in case baby comes earlier than planned, but I'm just not sure I have the energy to do it!

Hope you all have a lovely day

Successful baking session. Two sausages & a sausage & onion patty leftover so that's tomorrow's breakfast sorted out. Despite half an hour of frantic texts/calls to & from my sister over the vast emergency of there being NO CHESTNUTS LEFT IN LONDON (now sorted!!), I've also managed to do a survey & update my blog. We're now entertaining ourselves (for free!) with a DVD of 'Nightmare before Christmas' & trying not to start on the sausage pies!
Thoughts on rolling thread.....I don't know, I guess the people who started it were going for the emphasis on 'Daily' things, so a 'Daily thread. I don't have a preference as to whether it's Daily or Rolling. I must admit I don't start the thread if it isn't already on. I have made 3 attempts - 1 failed & the other 2, I managed to get them done right (tho didn't find the process particularly intuitive) but clashed with someone else who had the same idea & we ended up with a double thread, so I haven't bothered since.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

That's interesting Foxgloves. The reason I started wondering about 1 rolling thread is that something like this has so many great ideas that get lost as soon as the day is done.
Anyway I'm not particularly bothered either way but it's just a shame when as you say, you come on and it isn't here which would be sorted forever if we rolled with the homies :)

Btw my oven was repaired!!! The element had gone. My tenant is so happy and so are we as the bill was only £75 which I'd estimate is less than half of a new oven plus installation fee. I'm going to carry on building up emergency fund as quickly as we can because this would have been so much better if we had the £1000 sitting there. Can imagine no stress or worry as how much can one new oven cost right?

  • Update

Quick list as I need to get off to work:
B and L from stores, tea will be out but this is planned. yes - and DH paid for dinner :)
Try and squeeze another hour extra time at work (almost made up enough time and would like to be done this week) done - not a great day at work, a lot busier this week than I had hoped
Need to get fuel for the car done - went over by a penny!

Both me and DH are taking DD to a party centre to see Chris cringle and then we'll get tea out too. They do a short performance and then the children get a personalised gift, so it should be good. And, it has been paid for in advance, so won't feel the cost now. done - it was really good and the look on dd's face was priceless

Bob - great news on the cooker and managing to sort before Christmas too. My personal thoughts on the thread would be to keep it daily. I think it's easier that way to catch up if you miss a day and less intimidating for newbies and non regulars. I struggle joining in with other threads because if you don't read every day there is too much to go through.

  • Hi

Just checking in before bed. DD and DS have spring cleaned rest of house whilst I was out. They are amazing. Thank you to them.
    A NSD for me.

I have no preference on rolling or daily. I just really enjoy hearing all your MSE news and ideas.

Happy Christmas eve tomorrow everyone. xx
