Coop Bank Question ( Paying into Post Office )

Hiya all,
Wonder if anyone has the answer to this
My dad has a Coop bank account and I am going to pay some money in for him to help him with Xmas
My online banking currently is not working and the nearest Coop branch is 45 mins from where I am so was going to do it at my local Post Office so just need to know:
- Can I do this without his card? ( I have his details )
- How long does it take to show his end?

I use post office for deposits to Coop.
The money is there instantly when the card is swiped. However I don't believe you can do anything at the post office without the card ...... sorry!0 -
