Gem how on earth do you get all these coins? Do you pay for everything in cash?! :)

I have a confession. I had lost a £2 coin which was allocated to my pot. It disappeared before it got to the pot. Toddlers.. :/ anyway I have been hunting for days to no avail. Just got some cleaning up trackies out of my wardrobe where I dumped them after shoving them on to take the bins out and tidy up the other day.. boom, there it was in the pocket. Phew! :D

Glad that you found your £2 coin.
Yes, my husband only works with cash, with both his money and the joint account money, when we go out and I do a combination of cash and credit card because I want to get my points/vouchers.
I also know that the self service till in Morrison's are a good bet (learnt that from someone one the forum last year). I also raid all my friends and families wallets/purses when I see them, if I haven't picked up many that week.

What are the tricks of the trade that other people get up to?

I haven't had one for ages I have to go shopping tomorrow so fingers crossed. I'm starting to feel a little left out :(

Hope you find lots. Let us know if they are any of the unusual ones.

Have updated the second post - everyone should have now been allocated a number or retained their old number.

I got my first 4 today. I got them in my change at Tescos and my first thought was yay! closely followed by err I can't save a whole £8 in one go? but I have popped them in the tin and am hoping they will all stay there this week! I feel bad saving them and bad spending them! Craziness! :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Thank you for the allocated number gem-gem :D

As an aside and from reading this post earlier too I noticed some comments about the coin collectors card...darn it came to mind as my daughter would have loved those for Christmas as she has collected several £2, £1 and 50p coins with the different pictures on. I have therefore set her some goals for the next month (mainly keeping her bedroom tidy) to earn one each month...I think it will motivate her (and gosh does she need motivating at times lol) :wall:

Good luck all with hunting out the £2 coins :)

Hi, can I join? Have two in my pot that will hopefully be enough to buy first set of blinds soon at £100. Determined this year to sort our finances out and to stop being so lax with money!!
