Ummm.... drifts off down memory lane.... Anyone remember when blackjacks & fruitsalads were 4 for an old penny? No? Oh well.....

I wasn't alive in the days of the old penny. That - alas - doesn't mean I'm young...

    I remember:
    • When waggonwheels were large
    • When Walkers crisps filled more of the bag than the air did.
    • When Harry Enfield was funny...

You can have my other packet and a half of giant palma violets. They're about the size of a penny and rather sickly after about ten of them....

who remembers flying saucers, mojos, white mice, texan bars, rountrees counters, animal bars.....

Sadly not. I always thought life would be simpler with a woman...

    It isn't - trust me...
I'm 43 and I don't even begin to understand blokes, not even having been married to two (not at the same time  ) and given birth to a son and having four big brothers.

You're probably trying to over complicate them. Don't expect them to understand anything that you haven't told them. Don't expect them to "think" of anything.

That leads to the road called "Disappointment".

If you want a big bunch of flowers for your birthday - you need to hint gently. Go to them and say "I want a big bunch of flowers for my birthday." and remember to follow this up with "The florist will need to be told the day before." and "You will need to withdraw money to pay them."

Expecting them to think of that all on their own leads to unneccesary sadness which could so easily have been avoided.
