TNC Parking Services and P4 Parking

Options
I need some guidance on a situation I am in. I parked in a private car park run by "P4 Parking" in Edinburgh on multiple occasions and received a few tickets. People I spoke to and fourms I have read online have stated that I should ignore these tickets as they are just "fishing" to see if you will pay them or not. "P4 Parking" did not patrol the car park on a regular basis, sometimes I would arrive at my car and a ticket would be on it and sometimes there wouldn't be. Which made me doubt their legitimacy. I have now received letters from "TNC Parking Services" demanding £100 and £140. Can anyone advise me on what to do? Should I continue to ignore these letters? Will they stop sending them? This situation has made me panic quite a bit so any help I could get would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Thank you Redx. Why is it I can ignore this because it was in Scotland? In which situation could I get court papers?

because POFA 2012 doesnt apply in Scotland , only england and wales

anyone in this country could get court papers for almost any scenario, so in your case they have 5 years to pursue it under the small claims court procedures, but they would need to know the drivers details for that to happen, and recent court papers were dropped by one company against some owners in scotland

as I said, all explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread, plus dozens of other threads, so suggest you have a good read if you really want the answers in detail

otherwise, ignore anything apaert from court papers, like I said

Here's a summary of a typical debt collector letter chain being ignored by people in NI (where POFA 2012 doesn't apply either):

I realise yours is TNC and Scotland, but they are much of a muchness. When I ignored letters from Euro Car Parks about 6 years ago they stopped writing after about 4 letters, strung out over about 6 months, that was all, then they crawled back under their stone. Post #7 here should give you an idea of the silly letters to expect & file:

If any letters mention the POFA 2012 or keeper liability then immediately complain to the BPA, because as has been said, that law doesn't apply to you and as keeper, you cannot be held liable.

  • I've had about 6 letters for 6 different tickets. Will that make any difference? I read the link that you posted and it gave me a good laugh, thanks!

Makes no odds because they need to know who was driving and you are not going to tell them!
