It is easily proven about the bottle being defective - perhaps I should have explained that there is a piece missing to the bottle. When you take the lid off, usually inside it's a bit like a washing up bottle with a plastic insert that makes it 'squirty'. There was no insert to this bottle (so making it like a milkbottle), if that makes sense. Because of the missing insert it meant that even with the lid 'clicked' (as in child proof), it wasn't actually airtight.
I'll see how I get on, I'm more bothered about the rug in the kitchen than anything as it was £80 6 months ago.0
