However we usually pay manually each month and then I get MBNA to stop the dd for that month and never any issues.
We look upon a dd with them as our insurance policy knowing the payment will be taken if no manual payment is made.0 -
Direct Debit for the minimum is really important with Balance Transfer deals..
i think you've come out of it quite well, rubble2. it could have been better. but certainly a lot worse too...i think i'd accept that, and move on, being sure to get a DD in place.0 -
I think you did quite well also.
I had just taken out a Virgin cc (MBNA) with 0% for 26 months. I was intending setting up a direct debit but forgot. I never received my second statement and consequently forgot to pay. When my third statement arrived with a £12 late payment charge and my 0% removed I phoned them but they refused to reinstate the 0%. I asked to speak to a manager and threatened to cancel my Virgin media package and it was only then that they said they could offer 1.9%.0 -

Something I am always mindful of but thanks for the reminder.0 -

As I say, I don't use them. But it might be useful for other readers to know.
I normally give them plenty of time to stop the dd and at least 7 working days but not sure what the official number of days is to stop it being processed for that month.0
