E.ON MSE switch
Hi Guys,
I have taken part in the recent community switch via MSE and while the account was still being transferred we secured a house and completed...
I just wondered if there is even a remote chance of being able to take that tariff with us...
Is there anyone I can discuss this with from MSE?
Thanks!

Hi Qbazdz
Unfortunately the tariff with Eon wasn't portable (i.e. although fixed for 12 months, this couldn't be moved from one supply to another in case of moving house).
However the good news is that since the Big Winter Switch Event prices for a 12 months fix have decreased, so you should be able to find a cheap tariff for your new property (where you'll initially be on the existing supplier's standard tariff).
I hope this helps.0 -
Hi Dan,
Thanks for your reply.
In this case my key problem is that I cannot use the Energy Club page as I cannot change the address or search for a tariff since it is saying that my transfer has not been completed yet, whereas we have been with the provider for good 2-3 weeks now..
Anyway to unlock this?0 -

As stated many times on this forum, when you move into your new property you will be on a Deemed Contract with the existing supplier. You should contact them immediately with meter readings and the date of legal completion (not the date that you moved in). You are then free to switch to a new supplier. You can expect a bill from the existing supplier to cover the period up to the switch.
I confess that I am not sure what happens now re your existing property if the switch has not gone through by legal completion. As you are effectively terminating the contract, then (if applicable) you could be liable for exit fees. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Generally suppliers don't classify house moves as early terminations, but it is worth double-checking for your own supplier to be sure about this.0 -
Thanks a lot again for all your help guys.
Dan, MSE, CEC - this is the CS that every company should be giving - less than 30min to sort everything out from original email being sent - amazing!
