We're just speccing out our new kitchen but its a big job and we need to keep costs under control. At the moment most of our appliances are Bosch and they have served us well but we won't be able to stretch to Bosch prices this time. I don't have much experience on other makes so what are everyone's opinions on what is best from the following makes:
Whirlpool
Hotpot
Zanussi
Indesit
Do any of these stand out are are any of them to be avoided?

Whirlpool own Indesit who own Hotpoint. Hotpoint used to rebrand Zanussi. The name on the product doesn't tell you much nowadays, especially in this part of the market. Appliances could be made by anyone anywhere, decide which models you fancy (you know what I mean) & check reviews online.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I have tried that to some extent - there doesn't seem to be much to differentiate between the reviews though. I guess that makes sense if everything is made by essentially the same company.0 -
One other thing then I'll shut up. Often the more expensive machines in a particular range just have more programmes or flashier looking controls. Our washing machine is rarely used on anything other than "Automatic Plus" & the dishwasher only has three programmes of which two are never used. Flashy controls are just more to go wrong & if they do go wrong the service engineer won't be as familiar with those as he is with the standard models.
Sorry, that was two things.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
Yeah, I understand the thing about the controls. They're all going to be built in anyway so flashy controls will be wasted as we won't be absent see them.0

Personally I would avoid Indes*it at all costs, I have had at lest three items break just after the warrantee period!
I would however recommend the Beko stuff, I have had no problems with any of mine which are all now Beko.0
