Final Readings someone must be lying ?

Okay so my new supplier E-on confirm that their incoming readings have gone to N-Power for them to finalise their account.
I am wanting to keep on top of this as realise both parties claim 28 days (Maybe 30) to do their side of the deal. As I will have a large credit and not a debt to pay I want done asap.
However N-Power say they dont have the readings so their clock to produce a final bill has not started.
How do you find out what part of the system is not being 100% truthful ?

Sorry should end my own thread.
Just realised e-ons readings go to a 3rd pary data collector to verify before onto n-power.0 -
..........not sure that you can; you are totally dependent on an archaic system which transfers the readings from the new supplier to the old via some sort of verification process.
Why it takes so long in this day and age ,is beyond me. My gas readings from my swap were agreed within 5 days -but the leccy readings are still lost in the ether between EON and OVO after 17 days -furthermore when I talked to OVO C/Services a week or so ago, they told me it could take 4-6 weeks minimum ! So they sit on my £350+ credit AND the C/S adviser suggested that the "system" might attempt to collect another DD at the end of Dec. if the account wasn't finalised:eek:
The worry I have, is that the EON IT problems are delaying this process in some way.:(0
