I agree, the course I did was very useful not least because they explained how to work out what the speed limit is on the stretch of road you are driving on.

If you are offered an awareness course it means that you were speeding at the time the Camera caught you and you were slightly over the speed limit for that part of the road. Awareness courses are for minor infractions as are 3 points and a fine . If you have been really caning it you will get a court summons with greater consequences . Insurances increase with the severity of the case. So the 3 points or Awareness course will not make a great difference in financial cost but your job or other prospects may be affected. You can only have one Awareness course in 3 years . Ultimately - Drive carefully at all times ( message to self as I have just got a letter from the Feds !! )
