Just over a year since the helicopter came down. I am in Glasgow but wasn't involved, although it's almost exactly in the place that I have my regular work meetings. So shocking.0 -
Goodness Gers that's a close call, too close for comfort

Evening all,
Just caught up with the news. Such a tragedy In Glasgow. My condolences to the families involved.
Sorry ive not been around, I have been majorly stressed over preparations for Christmas. Just as I thought I'd got all bases covered then something crops up and I'm back to square one again with the planning. I really wanted a simple Christmas this year but its been anything but.
Christmas party with the old folks in Moms residential home tomorrow and the wrapping of the gifts I bought today to do yet but that will be it I think.
Hubby had an hospital appointment today and has been discharged. That's him sorted. Discharged from the Stroke clinic and the Kidney clinic but he's got high blood pressure now which is something the GP can keep an eye on over the next few months. He's also been told he needs to lose weight. He has suddenly 'discovered' his taste buds and has put on a stone and a half in 12 months. "I'm amazed ive put so much weight on" he said. Unfortunately I'm not.
I'm glad Christmas only comes once a year.

Good Evening everyone, I got back from lovely Berlin very late last night and DD1 and I stayed with DD2 as she is quite close to the airport, then came back on the train and got here just after lunch. It was really lovely to go back to the Christmas Markets again and we have had a brilliant time but there was no snow, so it felt odd as usually it's tinglingly cold. I've been flat out since we got back and the house is now looking very festive, I have a scented candle burning and we are waiting for DD2 and hubby and that Zebra to arrive and stay with us tomorrow before going home for their own christmas with their friends for the first time. It's going to be very nice for them to set their own traditions going but we'll miss her while being happy for her too. I'll read back through the last few days in the morning, I'm very tired and didn't sleep too well last night when we finally got back to the UK, but I hope to tonight, Lyn xxx.0

Evening all, has been a busy day, DD2 had her 42nd birthday today.....DD1 will come from Cork to celebrate her 44th tomorrow ( I know very bad organisation!) I had people come to see me, my dearest friend for lunch, and a panic cleanup of wheelchair that was needed to take mydear friend home from hospital...he fell and dislocated his hip and is now hardly able to walk....chair was last used 17 years ago when DS3 had his motorbike accident, so hopefully it will serve the purpose to move him around at home, so anice day in some ways, glad that he is home for Christmas.
Windy here today, not cold but rather unpleasant, DD4 has been shopping for me and herself almost all day, she is now wrapping presents, DD2 and OH have gone out for a little celebration, think that they are meeting DS3 and OH so could be late, DGDs are here and can put themselves to bed later.
I still seem to be missing bits and pieces but will manage to pick them up over the next couple of days....anything left over we will do without, so much nonsense really, the presence of loved ones is all that is really important, so thank you all for your kindness and for beingmy friends
