Peugeot have credited my bank account after finance agreement ended?

Hi.

I've just discovered that my old car financers (Peugeot) have credited my account for a few hundred pounds. I really don't know why, I've not received any letters and my finance agreement ended with them a couple of months ago. Any idea on whether I should leave this money where it is and not spend it incase they take it back out again?

You probably overpaid because your settlement figure was given but you made a further payment before the settlement payment was made, just happened to me with Audi, daft thing is they knew it would happen due to payment dates and so did I but they insisted I still made the payment and had the refund as they couldn't promise a late payment marker wouldn't appear on my credit file as the computers may not have updated quickly enough.
  • As above. Some Porsche buyers have had refunds recently as the Porsche terms and conditions were incorrect too.
