Hi, My Oh Is getting a new laptop on monday! (peeps on here will know the trouble I have had with it!) anyway I have a new problem! I have Orange Broadband with an inventel livebox, the new laptop will have Vista, My orange livebox setup cd only has software compatable for XP etc.... I have recently found this out as OH has his mates laptop and we can't connect to the internet through the wireless adapter which I assume is because I need the software? - and just for this weekend can I get his mates laptop working to the internet?

Please advise if there is a way I can do this from my current setup (to have a wireless connection on the laptop.)

The following is presuming the laptop has built in wireless.
OK you will need to connect via an eithernet cable to the live box, then open up a web browser.
Type in 192.168.1.1 to bring up the livebox config pages, lopgin with admin, admin
Go to Configuration > Advanced > Wireless and change to WPA (you may need to select WEP if you have older wireless devices - don't use the mixed mode as it won't work with Vista).
Press Button 1 on the livebox and the paring light will flash (crucial step!)
Now unplug the cable and look in the taskbar of Vista. Click on the Wireless Logo and select your Livebox - e.g. WANADOO - F123. When prompted enter the security key (its called WEP key on the sticker on the livebox).
Wait a few seconds and you should now be connected.

Don't bother with the Orange software - it's unnecessary bloat ware.
