Err... by that logic (and I'm using that word most generously), we couldn't know there are (at least) two human genders unless we've met all 7.25 billion people.
As you've apparently only seen one PS4, if you browse a PS4 forum or a dedicated gaming forum you'll have hundreds of first-hand reports on which to better educate yourself. Here's a good place to start. And the number of reports is unprecedented - I've certainly never seen this so much with any other console. Have you?Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
I use the official PS4 forums everyday, don't see any posts about noise any more.
Did on release, because, like I said, noise is subjective. What is loud to one may not be to another.0 -
Just means you have to turn the volume up louder, makes the games better anyway the louder they are!0

You'll be waiting a while!
The PS4 is roughly the same size as the 2nd Gen PS3. The PS3 slim came out years later.

I don't personally see the need for a slim. I wouldn't buy one.0

All the PS4 really needs in a bigger hard drive. I just installed a 2TB in mine as I was running out of space.0

You are saying that the people there who sent back their PS4s and got back one which was near-silent are, in fact, wrong. That their original PS4 and their replacement had identical sound levels, but because a couple of weeks had passed, those people had no idea that the noise levels were the same, and assumed the new one was quiet(?).
You're seriously (? Or have I just missed your sarcasm?) saying that the person who compared their noisy PS4 with their brother's silent PS4 is unable to make such a straightforward comparison.
Or maybe you're saying that all of these people are lying? That "Opened a second chat and simply asked if they were replacing PS4's with the "excessively loud fan issue". She said yep, asked for serial/model and my address, shipped me a prepaid box. Said the console would be replaced not repaired, and that it would be tested before shipping." - this never happened? It's all a conspiracy?!?
I trust hundreds of random Internet people more than one random Internet person - sorry, Gordon Hose! Next time do some research. One single person's experiences do not mean much by themselves - especially when we're talking about the variety in people's experiences!

I had 4 different ps4 that all sounded like jumbo jets on playing games.
Eventually returned them all and got an xbox one which is very quiet.
Admittedly its in the livingroom under the telly, so sound is very important to me, more than perceived minor differences in graphic or gaming quality.0 -
I own the ps3 Super Slim at the moment. I have not got a ps4 yet. I am not really bothered whether I get a slim or a standard console, more bothered about the price. I cannot justify the current prices as I have little time to actually play (kids and work). I probably play my ps3 a couple of hours a week, so very little really.
If you have time to put in a couple of hours per day, for example, then the current prices may make it worthwhile for you. Some would say its not worth me getting a ps4 at all, but I will definitely get one at some stage. I enjoy my footie games especially and just play the other AAA titles. However these days it can be very expensive to always buy the latest console or the latest games, simply not worth it for me.
p.s I am looking to get a ps4 from maybe Sept 2015 or later. Depending on the deals at that time.0 -
