Wait for PS4 slim?

Yikes. I've seen a few noisy PS4s first-hand (and they can be NOISY!), and heard a few people online claim that theirs is near-silent. But you're saying that ALL PS4s are noisy?!
In that case, definitely wait for a slim. Unless you're a helicopter pilot and won't mind the noise.Cheers for the information, Gordon Hose.

Mine is pretty silent.
The only issue I have is that sometimes it turns on then off immediately.0 -
I have just got a PS4 and I don't find that it makes to much noise. I had an Xbox One before and I find the PS4 so much simpler to use. Love the PS4 and recommend it to anybody. I think may as well get one now and if you really want the slim when it comes out just trade in PS4 and put the money towards the slim.0

I'd wait til the price drops and some decent games come out that arn't just hd remasters or remakes myself.0

Depends If you need a ps4 ie if you have a ps3 then most games released in the next 12 months will be on ps3 and ps4 but some like Uncharted 4 and Until Dawn and The order 1886 are only ps4
True, most triple A titles will be released on PS3 which will be pushing the hardware to get the best out of it.
At the moment the first gen PS4 dont look that big a leap ahead of PS3 games that get the best out of the hardware now.
Look at uncharted 1 compared to uncharted 3, so uncharted 4 on PS4 will not really be pushing the hardware that much yet.
I dont care about slim or not, but when the price comes down a lot on PS4 thats when I will try and pick one up 2nd hand with lots of games included.HTB = Help to Bubble.0 -

can always install one yourself. I got a 1tb one off amazon for £50, installed in my ps4, upgraded my mac to a 500gb using the harddrive I took out the ps4 and then threw the 320gb harddrive in the ps3.
the 120 I had in the ps3 already I installed in my bosses ps3 slim his son has as it was only 8gb version
ps4 install 45 mins
mac install 4 hours due to massive data moveage
ps3 install 30 mins
second ps3 10 mins0 -

They should all make some noise, unless they are switched off :rotfl:
Mine is practically silent, but I also game with a headset so can't hear it anyway.
I'd be worried if my PS4 didn't make any noise at all.0 -

But... /o\
OK. I think you've missed the fact that the noise of PS4 consoles is extremely variable from console to console, seemingly more so than any other console. Some are noisy as soon as they are switched on. Some are noisy when you play certain games or do certain activities. Some are quiet throughout.
And the noisy ones could win awards for the noisiest brand-new consoles in history.
But at least Sony accepts returns on them (although sometimes you'll get back the same console and it will be just as noisy so you'll have to send it back for a second month).
(There are "silent" Xbox Ones, btw.)Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?

Have you heard how noisy everyone's console is then? Quite a feat that...0
