Excel parking charge notice - advice please

Posting on behalf of my mother who is 75. Age only relevant as she may not be up for a prolonged battle.
She has a parking charge notice for Excel Parking Services limited, (at The Quadrant in Redditch if anyone knows it, having paid for 2 hours and overstayed by 10 minutes in a pay and display car park.)
They're asking for £60 or £40 if paid within 14 days.
What we're wanting to know is how far Excel as a company are likely to take it. Although she's up for giving it a go to not have to pay, if they're one of the companies that are likely to take it all the way to court that's possibly a step too far for her.
Any comments please? This is new to the both of us, and if she goes for it we'll read the sticky in full, I'm more wondering where it's likely to go if she does challenge it for this particular company.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Start by reading the Newbies Sticky carefully - This outlines the situation with Excel and the steps needed to see them-off.
Its a bit of work but you can do it on her behalf, so take it step at a time and don't worry.

Only occasionally! But this is the Small Claims Court, no wigs, no Jury, no Death Sentence!
But you can easily beat this at POPLA if you follow the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, one page back from here (use the Forum Jump button to get there). Come back if you don't understand anything!
But, whatever you do, you (Mother) can easily fight and beat this - and we'll work alongside you to achieve the desired result. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
