Gap insurance

Still inside 30 days, think I need to stick it in a letter formally to make it easier, salesman got a bit funny about re-doing the finance quote so figured I'd do it after, got the quotes already - cancel fee is only £50 but yes would be annoying
Even more ouch if he added the Gap premium of £495 to the finance as you will end up paying considerably more once the finance is added over the period of the loan0 -

It's 0%
Only reason why I didn't buy the ex-demo one of the same spec they had (in cash) - I hate any notion of paying interest on payments, was always brought up to believe in saving up if you can't afford something.
It's actually £499 as well!
I have done the letter, will be off to post office tomorrow for a signed for delivery, hopefully they won't get too fussy but tbh £233 for 4 years (instead of 3), running from when the car is 1 year old (as my insurer does full replacement with a new car if it's more than 60% cost in repairs and up / if car is stolen) is just obviously better - effectively I get 2 years for £499!Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
