Capital One Mastercard

Anyone know what's going on with this? My card has just been cancelled and replaced early, causing some considerable inconvenience to me in re-entering details on various sites with stored information like Tfl, my train company, Amazon, etc. All I have received is a bland letter telling me that they are not going to offer any explanation of their actions so I don't know whether this is down to something I have done, something that have done or something that's industry-wide - I note the Booking.com scam in the press today. Is this just coincidence? If it's down to me, I want to know so I can avoid whichever site has proved to be dodgy in the future. I should say that my online transactions are all with legit places and my F2F ones are mostly in apparently reputable hotels, restaurants and stores in mainstream countries. I have generally had good service from this bank but the lack of accountability to customers is making me wonder whether I really want to stick with them.

It is not uncommon for credit card companies including CapitalOne to reissue new cards with new 16 digit credit card number because of possible suspicious activity that has been monitored by the fraud department. You should be happy that CapitalOne are looking after you!

Whether your card is cancelled early or late does not matter you would still need to update the various merchants you use when you received the new card later. Stop moaning.

Somethings CapitalOne cannot reveal because of security reasons that does not mean lack of accountability.
