OMG a blast from the past. LOL.
My MIL got my husband some Old Spice the other year for Christmas I felt like I was with my dad as that what he used to wear back in the day.
You say above Tramp, Yardley here are a few more oldies I can think of: Tweed (friend used and always made me sickas the smell was rank and strong ). Charlie (I loved this ) which were not to expensive.0 -
Here is one for you:
Old Spice was created back in the early 1930s and was originally a women's perfume.0 -

I also remember Drakkar Noir which sounds very unappealing to me. "Black Drak" ....mmmmm nice.
As grandfathery as Old Spice is, you have to say it had the best adverts...in the days people actually watched ads.0 -

Well that something new for today. Very interesting.0 -
Modern perfumes don't keep very well. The smell changes considerably after a couple of years, even if they're not opened. Why would you keep perfume anyway ?0

When buying anything for Christmas, better to shop at a refund friendly shop and then be prepared to do the shopping twice.
I seem to remember it was a Mulberry you bought your wife? Never buy full price, there is always a discount deal to be had somewhere! I have a reasonably sized Mulberry collection and have never paid full price for any of them.
All from genuine stockists of course, I don't do fake!! Should you be in the market for more for your lovely wife feel free to drop me a message and I can see if there are any discounts around.
If you shop with any of the high end retailers they tend to send you private sale invitations etc. they are often transferable. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Some insider info, the big manufacturers typically sell to all of the retailers directly there really isn't any small perfume retailers any more. Savers for example is part of superdrug all of the fragrance stores are big enough to deal direct. It will be true some comes from grey markets but the majority will be bought direct from the manufacter. Just that each stores has a different offer.
On old spice seen as a bit of a joke here but in the US its a major brand like Lynx is here. But here reminds us of the 70s along with Brut.0 -
Boots is not a cheap shop , savers or superdrug is much cheaper . It's that simple.
Boots also run this tedious buy 2 get one free and perhaps that was the offer that gift set was from.the box will have a green sticker on it like a boxed present.0 -
Here's another 1970s wonder-Aqua Manda0
