Ideas for a 'thank you' gift for customer

Not your usual post but I was not sure where else to ask this.
I have a got a special customer who buys through me all the time and I want to send a thank you gift to him and his female partner. He has spent a lot of money this year (todays order is almost £400 and this is a big order for my little company where average spend is £30) anyhow I want to enclose a little gift to say thank you and that I appreciate his repeat custom. But I do not know what to send.
A box of chocolates does not seem enough on the face of it but I need to be able to ship it through Airmail and it needs to be a joint present - to someone I guess that I do not really know.
Any suggestions? My brain does not seem to be able to compute at this time in the morning. Thanks.

Why not offer them a discount off their next purchase?
Or is it possible to send some sort of e-gift voucher?0 -
if i was to receive a card with the words "thankyou for your valued custom" i would be well chuffed.
My point being, it doesn't really matter if the gift reflects the amount of business. The pure fact you have taken the time to thank them would be be appreciated.
Saying that, if they are abroad, as your post suggests, see if you can contact a local restaurant to them and negotiate a meal for them.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

I already do this, I give a permanent 20% discount to him because I value his custom. I just wanted to send something else that said 'thank you' really.0 -

Thank you, that is a really good idea, I am going to look into something like that. I am going to pop in a little gift too to send over (picked a little something up this morning that seemed perfect when I say it). I just wanted him to know that I appreciated that he shopped with me all the time. In this world of online shopping it's easy to flit from shop to shop so it;s nice that someone shops with me all the time.0 -
Just wondering whether any gift cards can be used abroad.
It might be worth looking at Amazon or a Paypal gift.
Just an idea.0 -
I get some really terrible gifts from a Chinese supplier. They are really so bad they're a source of great amusement.
Last Christmas we received two massive ashtrays, they must have cost about three times as much to send as they were worth, they were literally neither use nor ornament! This year we received tiny kitchen aprons. Others have been a set of bizarre door hangers. I'm sure others will come to me.
When we had the auction house, we sent calendars to regulars, some got a bottle of something, or chocolates. Either of those work pretty well. My dad, who was a shopkeeper, loved Christmas Eve, delivering staff bonuses and gifts to suppliers..0 -

We used to spend £400 - £600 a week with one auctioneer, and received a calendar. Daren't think what we would have to have spent to qualify for chocolates :eek:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

I'd have given you a bottle of Scotch and a small car too;)charlies_mum wrote: »We used to spend £400 - £600 a week with one auctioneer, and received a calendar. Daren't think what we would have to have spent to qualify for chocolates .0 -
As they are abroad why not send them something very English -like chocolates -actually chocolates are probably the best as they are unlikely to fall foul of customs regulations and wouldn't get smushed in the post like biscuits. It's a gesture -and a lovely one which I'm sure will be appreciated even arriving late for Christmas itself.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Check what is permitted as tax deductable. Usually 'advertising' is allowed, so something with your branding on (you can get personalised chocolates etc).
Also some countries and companies have very strict rules on business 'gifts'.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
