copying DVD to pc

Hi I have a recordable dvd that I must of put on a film on sometime in the past.
I would like to put this film back on to the pc as a back up
How do I do it?

Do you want to play it normally on the PC or just keep it there for recreating the DVD if needed in the future?

Handbrake will convert the file DVD into a PC format which makes playing the easiest and compresses its size.

Alternatively there are things like ImageBurner that will create an absolute copy of the DVD as an ISO. You can still play this on the computer but slightly less players support it -v- MP4s etc and they take up more space but there is no quality loss.

Dont use Windows any more so not sure which is the most common ISO creator these days hence no link

There's a program called ISO creator by Lucersoft, it's brilliant for ripping images of your CD and DVDs, it creates an ISO file which can simply be burnt onto a new CD/DVD at any time in future.

Best of all it doesn't require any installing, it does what it says without any BS.
