Afternoon everyone. Needing to get back on the frugalling wagon again. I am decluttering just now as I finally bought the Marie Kondo book. My bedroom is a disaster just now but the clothing is almost done and I do feel better for it. There are a few bits on unwanted jewellery that will go on gumtree but the unwanted clothes have gone to the charity shop I volunteer in. Still got bags and shoes to do.
I am feeling a bit overwrought this afternoon - the past 5 - 6 days have been so busy. I was away with my family for a long weekend as part of my mum's 70th birthday celebrations (paid for by my dad as a gift to her bless him) then yesterday was busy up at mum's house for her birthday day with lots of visitors. I have also taken MIL and FIL out for lunch as MILs 70th coming up on July 27th and various other social bits. Although all these things have been lovely and enjoyable I am one of these people who really needs time to myself which hasn't been possible recently. Sunday will be my opportunity to have some time alone to just chill out.0 -
Feeling much more chilled today. Frugal plans today are:
1. Use up cupboard stock for food this week as much as possible. Lunch today will be sandwich with fruit and dinner will be tin of soup plus HM Raspberry crumble and ice cream.
2. Continue with de-cluttering Konmari style. Need to photograph some bits that will go on gumtree. Any money earned from items sold will be saved into my ISA.
3. Look in freezer to plan meals for the next few days.
Other than that I plan to have a walk. I have lost almost a stone in weight recently and it's now time to work on getting the next stone off too.
I hope everyone is having a great day.0 -

I thought you guys might be interested in seeing the blanket I crocheted for my mum for her birthday recently. I hope this link works as never done this before. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=879770102099464&set=pcb.879770225432785&type=1&theatre
I also made some cushions, a wee crochet owl and some lavender bags. She really loved the blanket and the colours were prefect to go with her room.
Thanks Kerry Woman, it feels good to have lost weight and it is staying off!0 -

Lovely blanket and well done on the weight loss, Allie.
I'll catch up soon, things get a bit hectic about here but I am trying to add as many Frugaldom-related photos to the Facebook album here, too. www.facebook.com/Frugaldom
Did an A$da order and added in a dinner set (£5) and cutlery set (£1.75) to start off the contents list of the Frugaldom holiday accommodation, so it's a start. Over spent a little but am still within my £4,000 per annum challenge budget, so it's all good.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

This is so me!! I get really agitated if I have too many social things going on and really need time alone each week to recharge.
My OH is totally the opposite and cant sit still, hurtling from one activity to another. Really frustrates me at times as he cant understand my need for space but I guess they say opposites attract.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... Kantankarus Mare - I totally get that feeling. I feel quite agitated too when I don't get time to myself. I have had most of yesterday afternoon and today to myself and I really feel the difference. Rather than agitation I feel calm and content.
Frugal food shop done this morning - in Aldi and Lid - came to £11.74.
Some snacks for the coming week now made - HM cookies and Crispie cakes. Going to freeze some of the crispie cakes so we don't eat them all at once!! Worked out the rough cost of making these; the cookies roughly 40p for 12 and the Crispie cakes around 70p for 15.
Dinner tonight will be a salad with fruit crumble to finish.
Other frugal plans this week:
1. NSDs for the rest of the week (up to and including Friday).
2. Use car only once - to get to volunteering on Wed. Other than that walk everywhere.
3. Continue decluttering Konmari style. Need to start books now that clothes are done.
Have a good week everyone:).0 -
Hi all,
Hope everyone is well. As we come to payday, I have looked back over the last month and we have overspent on food in particular.
This coming month has been meal planned and soups etc have been batch cooked and frozen to negate the 'excuses' and disorganisation that have led to overspending.
I am going to read back over the older threads, but would love to hear any tips you may have and how you are all getting on. :wave:2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0
