UKMail, The absolute pits

Hi Everyone, new to this forum.
Just a vent against UKmail.
I ordered some jam jars to make xmas presents, these where being delivered by UKMail by Wednesday (17/12/14) between the time of 17.21-18.21, no sign of anyone, I rang them and got the worst customer service I can ever remember and was told my parcel had gone back to the depot and would be delivered the following day. looked online to track parcel, to be surprised to see that it was down as 'delivery rearranged by recipient'! and I never asked for that. Had a text yesterday from UKMail (18/12/14) informing me that my parcel would be delivered between 14.43-15.43, again nobody bothered turning up, rang the company I ordered from who was going to ring them and get back to me, heard nothing back so rang UKMail again and was told that it would definitely be delivered by 20.00 last night (the woman I spoke to even tried to claim that delivery had been tried the previous day at 18.00 ( I even left lights on to show someone was in)), left a note in door window to leave with a neighbour and guess what? Nobody bothered to deliver my parcel again! I rang the company this morning to get a refund which they was happy to do, but had to pay through the nose for jamjars just so I can get these presents done. I went back online to check the state of my delivery with UKMail to see that they've updated it with 'delivery attempted' at 15.00 yesterday! Nobody turned up and no card left!!
I understand that it's busy being xmas, but there's no excuse for lying and xmas does happen on the same date every year. I must make a mental note to ask who delivery will be by, and then go elsewhere if it's UKMail!

Puppy Cat I sympathise!
Not only do I work from home, in a ground floor front room in which my chair is about 10 feet from the front door, but I was confined to my home for 3 weeks with a lung infection (though no in bed, still at my desk). In one of those weeks UK mail put three red "you were out" cards through my door! Why didn't they knock? It's a mystery!0
