condensation or leak?

Options
Hi All

I am not worried too much but would like opinions on this

just to give an idea , this is the window...

And this is the issue

Its bone dry , and was last week when i checked it , and theres no signs elsewhere on the ceiling

Could it be where condensation `burns` off the windows when the rads are on , marking above the window?
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

  • I dont think the two are connected to be honest.
The slight condensation occurs like that on some of my windows depending on the outside conditions.
The marks above the window look to me like the marks from an old water leak.

Thanks ff , the thing is , we have only been there a year , and that`s our painting , sure i would have noticed a leak....and if it was a leak , why has it stopped , because we havent carried out any remedial work on the roof line or anything

It may be a badly fitted cavity tray, or the weep holes may be partially blocked, it may only leak during sustained periods of heavy rain.

Have a good look outside - tiles, pointing, guttering etc. or whatever is above there.

Thanks DTD , i have no idea what a cavity tray is , or how to access it , but am guessing i need to get up in the loft and or get a ladder up to front of roof ?

One way or another , no one thinks its internal condensation then?
