Are peoples lives that empty that they have to make stuff like this up on internet forums?

@summertreats - please tell, I'm genuinely interested why someone feels the need to make stories up. Is it an attention thing?

Did you read what thorsoak posted? The OP was a middle aged woman with an 18 yr old daughter in 2011 and now she is a 19-ish year old student. Why should that be given any serious consideration? This isn't a bedtime story forum (although you would be forgiven for thinking it is sometimes!).

I occasionally post "fake" threads that arent mine but a friends who has the problem and is after advice.

I choose the believe this is what the OP has done. As opposed to thinking they are a troll

That's exactly what I'm intrigued about. Clearly people do sometimes make things up for various reasons and I would be really interested to know what makes someone do so.

Where has the OP said she's 19? I can only see a post (post 9) where she states that the brother's girlfriend is 19.
