It will have a sill/structural beam behind that plastic cover.

Are they getting advisories on the plastic covers for not being able to check behind?

Seen this mentioned recently where cars are getting advisories for sill covers and skirts where previously they were just ignored.

  • Admitting you made a mistake is not the dont thing on here. You should be shouting and screaming about claiming compensation

I'm being realistic about (a) my prospects of finding the person that decided to realign the curb and (b) the amount of assets the stone owns if I were to sue them directly for the damage they caused
  • Here's the underbody

Well that just shows me that some of the underside is body coloured :( and the rest seems to be black plastic? Though the fish eye lens makes it all look weird.

Assuming it is just a black plastic covering under there and its gotten scrapped, I guess that cant be reinstated and has to be replaced? Are finance companies worried by scrapes on there as presumably that covering gets damage from road debary etc as part of the normal/ acceptable wear and tear?
  • Odds are it has just scraped plastic coverings, but you won't know until you poke your head under there with a torch or find a friendly garage that will put it on a ramp for you.

I have no idea how forensic the finance co will be with the inspection they do at handover.

Hand it back when its raining. A trader said he hated buying cars when its raining as he wont be getting under there to look and haveing wet trousers.

And he knew people would try and use a dirty car and a rainy day to hide things.

Or the nice person that parked their car in the middle of his lot. He thought it was rather strange to leave it in the middle.
Turned out they parked it there because it was over a drain and it leaked water.
