Ford focus with 'No GPS' warning

Afternoon All,

I've got a 13 plate Ford focus and the in built sat nav is now showing 'No GPS' and it can't find my current location. It is showing that it's connecting to satellites though?

Is my only option to take it to a Ford garage and wait 6 weeks for a replacement one, or is there any way I can do some kind of reset (without voiding the warranty) to see if a reboot will help?

Cheers

DVD one? remove the disc check for scratches and re-insert it.

Not sure what you mean about a DVD one but I'm guessing that means it isn't a DVD one? There's no disc at all and no obvious place for a memory stick either.

Disconnect battery negative for 15 minutes, seems to cure all levels of gremlins on the more modern electronics.

Check if you need a radio code first though (unsure on ford's aware modern vauxhalls are coded to ecu so no need for radio codes).

Same here. Thought the maps were stored on disc so they could be updated.
  • Sounds like the disc or lense needs to be cleaned first.

The Ford System is an SD Card not a Disc, it uses Tomtom Maps, and is basically a dumbed down TomTom Unit, so the comments on cleaning discs etc do not apply to this unit

As stated it will be a faulty GPS Antenna lead and need a replacment

It says Connection to Satellites as the unit is hunting for them but as the antenna/lead is defective it cannot see them, will just keep hunting. Easy Fix as soon as you can get it booked in.
