I've just tipped over £1,000. I don't have all the details to hand, as writing this briefly, but today I've had £22 worth of euros from a focus group, £5 for reaching 50+ on my post count on The Money Shed (anyone can go and do this at present) and also £10 from TopCashBack for getting my Mum a new 30 day sim only deal.

Well a load more of my stock has arrived and i've been listing stuff like crazy.

I've approx 100 items ending over the weekend, so Mondays going to be a fun day.

Have started listing items on "buy it now" rather than just letting them run on auction and selling them at a penny or two cheaper than the cheapest otherwise available and its working well - i've sold 11 items in 48 hours that way at probably a bit more than i otherwise would have got just by auctioning them off.

Will tot up after the weekend where i am with profit.

Updating with good news, bad news and great news!

Firstly, the buying and selling went well but has come to a natural end as the products i was sourcing have started making more money, and the margin just isnt there any more. However have added a further £254.22 to my £285.24 so thats me at £539.46. So thats the good news.

But that looks like the end of the run on that type of sale for me. :( Much harder work too than i was expecting, and it started to take up a LOT of time. Will look again for other sources of stock that i can resell, but probably in a different area. And thats the bad news for me.

The excellent news is because i was running a part time business last year along side permanent employment, my "regular" job's payroll department cocked up my tax code, so my accountant says i'm due back £1,500, plus i've slight losses from that final year of part time trading so i can offset that against my tax that i paid in my full time employment, so theres approx £1,000 there.

On top of that, the incorrect tax code has been used this year too, so it looks like i'll be due a further £1,800 by his calcs.

Wont include these until i have the money in the bank as it were.

  • I know I'm a bit late but please can I join in too? Had rather a shock with my tax bill (!) hubby and I had already agreed to save hard this year for a new kitchen. I want to try and do that whilst earning extra to pay off my tax bill.

I have listed lots of stuff on ebay but have used a 10 day listing which starts on Thursday (I read the ebay tips!) so ages to wait for that. Hubby is going to try some mystery shopping and I am going to give up coffee at work and try to cycle/run to work some of the time.

First instalment is £3.33 cashback from my amazon credit card.
