My main advice would be to blog about something that you are knowledgeable on. For me it is mainly using websites that I have read about here on MSE, and on other sites too. I try to always be honest, and where I have made big amounts of money I provide screenshots for people to see I'm genuine. I don't write my posts with the aim of making money from others. Some of the websites that I write about have referral schemes, but again I'm upfront about what I make if someone chooses to join.
I prefer to look at my website as a hobby, which it is really. It makes me enough money to maintain itself, and not a lot more, which suits me fine.
With regards to earning from a blog or website I know people often use Google Adsense and the like. I don't personally. I do post affiliate links on my website, to baking items that I have used, but these don't make me much money really, again which I'm not too fussed about.
My main tip would just basically be to write about something you are knowledgeable on, which I know I already said. Most of my money has just been made from my own hard work, but a small percentage comes from referring people to websites. MSE has a special referrals board for that, which is useful, so if you have sites with referral schemes I would suggest you post your links there. Some people may think that you won't earn if your link isn't on the first page but I've found that not to be the case. If you are a helpful member or well known on MSE that usually helps too (I think!).
If you have any specific questions that I could help with feel free to ask here or PM me if it's a long list hahaThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
That is the second dig you have had at me on this topic already katykicker and its stiill only on page 1. Anymore to come ?
You were the one to take offence at me saying the challenge was not a race, to another member
You chose to leave the facebook group and then block me on facebook and on MSE
I DID want to keep the 2014 topic updated but I can't force members to reply to Inbox messages asking for totals for me to add them. To get a handful of replies from over 100 members is not good
You set up a Facebook page and barraged members with your referrals links, which is something I'm not the only person to say, and items that were only intended to make you a profit, rather than helping people. You didn't need a dedicated Facebook page when the thread was moving at the rate of 5-6 posts a day here on MSE, at most, for the first 3 months. Your intention was to profit from the challenge. I have no problem with that if you were fair and equal to all people joining. You started off the challenge being encouraging and nice to people, the bottom fell out of it coincidentally right when I completed the challenge, I still visited and offered thanks to people and sent private messages to those that I felt I could help with advice, I just chose not to keep posting on the thread where I was not made to feel welcome.
You were nice to me, at the beginning, then once I began to succeed at a faster rate than you, you would ignore my messages, ignore my updates and I requested THREE times, via the thread here on MSE, to have my name added to a completed challengers list and you refused. You had several digs at me, all of which you promptly removed when I called you out on them.
If 100 members had of replied back to your PM request then they would have found your inbox was full, as it can only hold 50 messages. It takes no more time, infact it would take less, to look at the updated targets people had provided on the threads to see how people was doing. Otherwise there is no reason to have a thread people can reply to with their earnings if you just ignore them.
I have no desire to argue with you. At the end of the day I've been helpful to literally hundreds of people here, I've provided evidence of my earnings both here on MSE and elsewhere, to numerous members also, including a member of the MSE staff. I have not been rude to people when they have made more money than me, or less, I have been happy to help others.
As to me having you blocked on MSE I've already explained on two prior occasions I clearly see your messages fine. I just choose not to reply to them, which is my right. It is your right not to like me, or my messages, and you can choose to ignore me or not, I really don't mind either way.
If you want some help with earning more for the next years challenge then I'm happy to help you, as I am other members. I don't mind answering questions here on MSE or via PM for anyone. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
