I am running Windows XP Pro.

I have until today when closing Internet Explorer or Outlook Express got a box saying " Disconnect or Stay connected" Unfortunatly I have put a check mark in the box by mistake and now it does not appear anymore.

Can anyone tell me please how to make it appear again?

I'm no expert but I would try a system restore to a date before you think you may have made the change. I would also wait a bit as someone like braowntoa may come along with a more suitable answer.

May need to dig around in the following area:
    1.
In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Connections tab.
    2.
Under Dial-up or Virtual Private Network settings, click the Settings button.
    3.
Under Dial-up settings, click the Advanced button and make sure that Disconnect when connection may no longer be required check box is cleared, and that the Disconnect if idle check box is cleared as well.

Yup - I know but process seems to be the same as IE5 instructions etc... I went through them first :D Hopefully it will work, I don't use the function myself...
