No vibration notifications since ios 8.1.2.

Hi everyone
I did a software upgrade recently to Ios 8.1.2. and ever since whenever a text message or Messenger message comes in, my phone no longer vibrates when the screen is locked. I have checked settings, sounds, notifications, I'm puzzled. Has anybody else encountered this and how did you fix it?
When the screen is unlocked it works fine.
