Confused by wording of daughters DLA award

my daughter has just been awarded lower rate mobility and middle rate care.it is the wording of why she was awarded middle rate care that has got me confused.she has significant speech,language and communication which i told the on the form and also sent a medical report and IEP report.

this is how they have worded her aware for the care element

"You are entitled to middle rate because you need attention with bodily functions several times at short intervals through the day"

does the bodily functions refer to her speech,language and communication difficulties? because when i think of bodily functions i think of going to the toilet,or am i totally misinterpreting it?

any help would be most welcome

Bodily functions is a term referring to DLA regulations.
it means 'functions of the body' - in this context, it means any function of the body that another has to help you with.
For example - hoovering isn't a bodily function, but helping to get into/out of chairs, or eating, or ... might be.
