Toilet flush problem

I had a new bathroom fitted in 2011. The toilet is a Vitra. When flushed the cistern takes a long time to fill up. I have looked inside and it is not a traditional ball valve. It is some kind of plastic contraption. The company who did the bathroom are no longer in business. It does not matter most of the time as I am the only one here but if I have visitors and one or two people use the loo they cannot flush it. Any information re these plastic flushing systems please?

Look to see can you see any sort of kink in the plastic which might restrict the flow.
Have a look on YouTube for a video that looks like your cistern.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

These things often have settings for high pressure (mains) feed & low pressure (from a tank) feed. If it's set for mains but is fed from a tank that would cause this problem. Sometimes there's just a sqiggly (technical term) bit of plastic in the input to the valve that can be removed.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Do you have a friend or relative who is good with plumbing who could help you? I have a toilet where you had to flush it 10 -20x before it actually flushed properly. It was that bad.
I'm friends with a guy whos a bathroom fitter and he changed the cyclinder thing for me, it was cracked and it he only charged me £25.00.0 -
You could always replace the fill valve which may be faulty. These are fairly easy to do but if you are not confident at diy, I'd call in a plumber. A new fill valve costs around £18. There are plenty of you tube videos on this.0
