RTC and insurance claim. Stolen vehicle

Hi all, was involved in an RTC earlier today when 2 kids on a dirt bike drove into the side of me and then ran off.
I'm left with a minor dent, numerous scratches and the rear offside passenger window smashed.
Is it worth claiming off my insurance for the window repair? I'm not losing sleep over the scratches as the cars a fair age and just used as a workhorse but obviously I need the window repaired.
I'm just concerned about losing any no claims and paying the excess on what probably won't be a massive bill?

A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.

Check your policy regarding NCD and a glass claim. Most companies do not impact your NCD after a glass claim.
But it will go on your record as a claim, and will need to be disclosed as such to any insurers you approach for quotes in the future.
Check the cost of repair via a local independent v paying your glass excess and having a claim on your record before contacting your insurer.
Do dummy quotes online with and without this claim in your history to see what difference it will make to your premium to help with the decision0 -
Did you keep their bike?0

Your insurance premiums will rise for the next 6 years the second you make any claim on your insurance.
You will wish you bought a new window every time the re-newel quote arrives.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Were the police involved?
If so, you are probably best notifying your insurance.
If there was no plod involvement then I would be down the breakers yard getting another bit of glass for £10.0 -
Yeah, police were involved, I've no problem declaring That ive had an accident just don't want to claim.

It wont make much difference, once a marker gets put on your name, your premiums rise for a good few years even if you do not make a claim.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I've made glass claims in the past. It doesn't affect the NCB, and since most policies have an excess on glass, it doesn't actually cost the insurers that much.
I haven't noticed any significant increases in the premiums because of a glass claim. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Obviously varies by insurer but most dont load for a single glass claim, some dont even note them.
"forgot" to add a glass claim when I switched to Tesco last year, called them to advise before the policy incepted and there was no charge at all for adding it.0
