Chrome V Slow

Hi

Chrome is really slow on my laptop and getting worse.

Can someone advise me please?

I have Norton Antivirus, so should I also have "Enable Phishing and Malware Protection" ticked on the Chrome Setting?.

I didn't know if having both "active" could be making things slow?

Thanks:beer:

  • Are you talking about a Norton toolbar that's been added to Chrome?
Because Chrome itself doesn't have such a setting afaik.
You should be free to use the Norton toolbar if you so wish with no problems.
You could try disabling the toolbar and see if Chrome speed improves.
    Friendly greeting!

See if unchecking "Use hardware acceleration when available" under System in Advanced settings makes a difference. Close all open Chrome browsers and restart Chrome.

Is it as slow using Internet Explorer? If you test this you will know whether it is the browser or the computer.
