Royal Life International Speculative Trust

Options
I have discovered paperwork showing that I invested £500 in the above trust fund in 1987. I have no recollection of cancelling this investment and the last contact I have from the firm is dated 1989 - an Income Tax voucher. I note from other boards that Royal Life merged with Royal & Sun Alliance in 1999 which was taken over by Friends Ivory & Sime in 2002 and that may have become Isis ?
Can anyone advise me if the fund is still live and kicking and who I should contact to claim proceeds, if any. Thanks.

A few minutes google tells me:
1987: Royal Internation Speculative Trust launched. 19 days after launch markets crash. Growth fund (presumably safer) sister of Speculative fund drops 26%

1998: Royal International SpeculativeTrust merged to form R&SA International Growth Trust

2000: RSA International Growth Trust converted to OEIC.

2002 Friends Ivory & Sime buy RSA asset management under ISIS brand

2004 ISIS and F&C merged to form F&C Asset management. F&C 51% owned by Friends Provident

2009 Friends Provident taken over by Resolution. F&C Asset Management demerged.

2014 F&C Asset Management taken over by Bank of Montreal

F&C seem to be still operating under their own name so you could try talking to them.

While Investment Trusts can be buy and forget, open ended funds are far more ephemeral things, that constantly morph, merge, close and otherwise make life more interesting than you'd like.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
