New boiler quote

I had a few boiler men come to quote for a new boiler in my home. None of them mentioned a charge for this but now one of them is saying he will invoice for the quote. What legislation can I use to dispute this charge as it wasn't previously mentioned?

If all you asked them to do was to come round and quote for a new boiler. Then I would tell them you are not paying anything. See what they do. Probably nothing. But there is no legislation. It just depends what was agreed between you when you asked them to come round.
If you said my boiler isn't working properly, can you have a look and tell me if it can be fixed or if not quote for a new one, you are very much in the area of having asked them to investigate a fault and depending on what they did, then yes they might be justified in some charge. But it depends on what was asked, what was made clear etc.
Just to cover yourself for any future quotes - be sure to ask that you can have a free no obligation quote.0 -
