Hello all,

I moved into my deseaced (sp) Grandmothers propertie in February we were with British Gas and have now swtiched to N Power anyways N Power have seriously messed up my bill and won't admit it!

They first sent me a bill for about £300 (The Gas was off as we were having kitchen fitted at the time) So this is impossible so rang them and they said an updated statmenet would be sent ! Nothing recieved!

Then i recived a bill for about £500, which i thought was impossible we have a gas fire and cooker no central heating!! So i phoned and was told the same thing!

No i have recieved a letter from Energy Debt saying all this !!!! about them cutting me off and it has even made me cry! I tryed calling the wont speak to me as it's not my house Gas isnt in my name!

So i dont even know why there cutting me off, it doesnt say on the letter and they wont speak to me!

Its so distressing, im moving in December so this is only a stop gap untill my new home is finished! But i dont want to leave any bills here cause we all know what familys are like!

HELP ME PLEASE xxxx

  • imo,

i think that this could all relate to the readings that your account was started at. when you transfer between companies nat grid.transco will estimate a reading and give it to both old and incoming supplier. it is possible that the reading that you have been started off on was much lower than you current read at the time.

this would mean that when you gave (or a meter reader took) a reading that there was a large amount of units to pay for.

it would be useful if you had taken a reading when you transferred over to compare it to your opening reading with npower

    hope this may help

    Hi,

There's a good chance that a bill has been generated due to that meter change. Suggest you check that the meter change was billed either with the old Supplier or new one. If not, that will negatively affect the size of your bill.

Not uncommon for one to be generated for £3000 off that issue, especially when combined with a change of supplier.
