Laptop keeps freezing

Hi.
I wonder if anyone can help me. My laptop has been playing up for the past few days. It just keeps freezing for no apparant reason.
Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

A few days it should be easy to remember what happened just before it started having issues.
What have you changed/installed?
Any popups you might have clicked on?
Any dodgy Facebook links that didn't do what they appeared they would?
Opened any email attachments?
Has anyone else done any of the above?

I did click on a Facebook video...that I think might have been dodgy.
It is completely freezing.....so I have to turn off via the power button.0
