Prejudiced NCB to be returned?
In April I had a vehicle accident claim which wasn't resolved when I needed to get my car insurance so I found the cheapest insurer and asked them to assure me that if the claim was settled in my favour they would refund me the difference. A Quote agreed to do so and I obtained two quotes from them based on the prejudiced NCB and one quote with my NCB restored. There was £130 difference.
I've now had my NCB restored but A Quote has said they would return £110. I queried this with them and they said it was because I subsequently had an act of vandalism on the vehicle, which I voluntarily notified them about even though I made no claim.
Are they within their rights to do this?

Yes.
Your vehicle had an 'incident' that you informed them of. Whether you claimed or not is irrelevant.0 -
Assuming the vandalism occurred after the policy started running, then your premium would (with most companies) be unaffected by it until renewal.
So their "increase" of £20 doesn't look to be within their rights, but check your policy wording before instigating a formal complaint over this unfair "increase" (Which you can escalate to the FOS if you are unhappy with their reply)0
