My next door neighbours dad did exactly this for her.

She was a single parent living with her mum and dad and her son. Her dad bought a property with the intention of renting it out and rented it out to his daughter as a place for her to live with his grandson.

I am going back to 1994 and she has since married and moved house and the other property has been sold so unfortunately I can't give you any more details.

My daughter rents a 3 bedroomed semi from her cousin.Shge is single with a six year old and has been in the property since she was 22.She has a rent book,landlords gas safety etc and there was a fair rent assesment.She has received housing benefit paid directly to her landlord ever since.she now works part time and she makes up the difference on her rent.Hope this helps
