Windows 6 and one note

Had enough now. Windows 7 I had no problem printing anything that appeared on the screen, now with this windows 8 I cannot.

The problem is "one note"

I have noticed any new documents I save goes to a separate folder by the name of "One drive". When I get the document on screen for printing it opens up three programmes Snip tool, one drive and one note. When I click on the document this programme comes into action and will not allow a print out. The printer has been linked up to the laptop and prints from pdf docs but not from this programme.
I want to return to the old office documents and somehow get rid of this one note programme,,,,, any help would be more than appreciated.

  • When you say on screen, do you mean printing the screen, or actually printing what appears on the screen within an application. Also have you installed your printer in Windows 8 , and what are you opening the document with, your post appears a little confusing ...sorry, are you using Office 365 from the cloud perhaps?

Is One Note set as your default printer?

Can't you right click on a file and choose the "Open with" option, then select the specific application you want to open it with?

An alternative may be to go to the Control Panel. Open Default Programmes and associate the file types to a specific application.
  • I'm beginning to wonder if the printer in in sync with the laptop. I did however print boarding passes from an airline not long ago, something came up where I had to select a printer. I managed to get those printed.
I still want to rid this cloud/one note from being the main source which documents seem to want to go through.
I's so difficult explaining being a luddite as I am.

    1. What version of Office do you have installed?
    2. Is your printer actually installed? - goto control panel, devices and printers (I think) and see if it's in there. Default printer will have a green tick on it - right click on your printer and 'set as default' if you need to.
