I want to treat myself to a pair of over ear noise cancelling earphones for my regular holiday flights. Anyone able to make a recommendation on what to buy - interested in comfortable fit and effective noise cancellation.
Thank you
Thank you
John

If you have the budget, then Bose are supposed to be the best, I can't vouch for them because I can't afford them!

I have wasted money on several other cheaper brands before buying Bose. Most John Lewis stores have a selection on display for you to try before you buy."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

For a little bit more, there's the Parrot Zik ones...

As above, the Bose are fab.

Surely the OP asked for earphones not very expensive headphones, may be just me though0

As far as I know, from the ones that I have tried, earphones are never going to be truly noise cancelling. Complete over-the-ear coverings are needed.
I didn't see anything in the OP about the cost?

Nor did I but I read earphones as earphones , but it is a moneysaving forum. I personally would prefer headphones, but my post was pointing out what the op asked about, sorry if I have overstepped the mark.hieveryone wrote: »As far as I know, from the ones that I have tried, earphones are never going to be truly noise cancelling. I've bought pair after pair of 'noise cancelling' earphones from cheaper makes and it was not cost-effective as they are actually rubbish!
I guess if the OP realises how much they are, he may choose an alternative, or indeed treat himself

I assumed the OP meant headphones as they said "over ear".
I've been using a pair that I got from 7dayshop for the last couple of years. They cost £20 at the time and they work well enough. The price has now doubled though.

The same 'phones are still available for around £20 from other sources under the Brand name "Panther". I bought another pair for my wife a month or so ago because she was so impressed with mine.0 -
I once bought a bargain pair of this brand for around £12 once:

They do work, am even able to mow the lawn and hear speech programmes a lot more clearly. On the train they also bring up the clarity a lot. But unless you go way up the budget level, it is never going to be very enjoyable to listen to music in a noisy environment. And maybe not even then.0
