LLoyds everyday offers are unfair

I didn't know the amount of cashback can vary by person to person, I think this is unfair. For example for one merchant I get 5% but my friend gets 15%... They use the excuse that it's tailored to the individual to get away with this. I thought it would be just the merchants that differ not the amounts of cashback recieved. How can this be fair?
They say you can get up to 15% cashback but I personally have never seen this. Do they offer 15% to a very small number of select people just so they can advertise it?

Usually if they're advertising a rate, at least 51% of people have to be able to get that rate.
A lot of companies do tailor cashback, Halifax do something similar with "Cashback Extras". There's not going to be much you can do about it. If you're unhappy, go to another lender, but Lloyds are one of the few who offer these sort of cashback schemes.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Why is it unfair? The merchant doesnt have to do business with you and even less on whatever terms you feel are 'fair'. If the merchant doesnt want to offer you 15% cashback, there is nothing you can do about it.
Those high cashback levels are offered to bigger spenders to entice them into the store in order to relieve them of much more than the 15% cashback they are giving away. Typically, you end up spending much more than you would have ordinarily without the incentive. Those of us who stop and think about it however, realise that cash back is going to be in the order of pennies and frankly, isnt worth the effort unless we were going to buy the items anyway. Therefore, cashback on food and other such necessary purchases are highly prized, but cashback on perfume is only useful about once a year and then only amounts to covering the cost of a cup of coffee. These incentives are a scam to get you to spend more than you reasonably should on stuff you didnt know you wanted until they suggested it.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Do you mean they give one person 5% off at Widgets 'R Us and another person might get 15% off at the same store? Or is it that one person is getting 5% off at Widgets 'R Us and another person is getting 15% off at the Clothing Hut?
I ask because if they're showing different merchants to different people, it would not be unexpected that the rates would be different for each store. A clothing retailer would typically give more cash back than a store selling laptops, for example. It all depends on the store and its margins. This is everybody's fault but mine.0 -
Simples. If your personal profile and your spending patterns were 100% the same as your friend's, you could perhaps expect to receive the same offers. But even then, there is nothing that entitles you get any offers.0

Halifax is in the same group as LLoyds so they will be doing the exact same thing, they will be offering different cashback amounts to different customers.0 -

It's for the same company so I get 5% at widgets 'R us and my friend gets 15%. How is this fair? To me the Santander 123 cashback is far transparent and fair across different customers....May have to move accounts.0 -

Exactly how is that fair? I'm guessing lloyds get commission whatever rate they get so its win win for them and they don't care that some people get better rates than others.0 -

Hi Moneylover1234,
Offers are personalised to you based on your spending with your debit and/or credit card. The offers will be different in comparison to your friend's as you have different purchasing habits.
