Have you seen the dozens of new parent and child and disabled spaces there? I pity the commuters trying to do a quick shop on the way home from work.
Also the station parking area. It`s correctness gone mad

What do you want? special spaces for commuters as well - why not bigger spaces for 4x4 cars and smaller spaces for hatchbacks? Better still, so the commuter doesn't have to get out of their car, why not have a drive-through? That would stop you moaning!
Disabled drivers/passengers NEED reserved spaces because they need extra room to get in and out of cars - and let's be honest there are loads of 'normal' drivers who avail themselves of these spaces when it is raining or they are in a rush! All M&S are doing is redressing the balance - making more spaces available for certain groups of people. Honestly..0 -
totally agree mike, i don't understand the original posters point
i have a 2 year old and i found child spaces invaluable when dd was in her first baby seat. i tend not to use them now as i feel i'm taking the spaces away from people with younger children who need it more than me - but the amount of people without children that use them because they're too bloody lazy to park a tiny bit further away from the store annoys the hell out of me.
good on marks and sparks for looking after their shoppers0 -
:T Thanks for bring this to my attention OP. As a disabled driver I often struggle to find a suitable parking space when I go shopping. This M&S store will definately be getting my business from now on. :beer:Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0

CONGRATULATIONS M&S!
I am a care worker and these spaces are invaluble! Also Mother and Baby! People are too fat and lazy to be bothered to walk a few yards to there car! Tickets should be issued! Drives me crazy! If i cant get a Mother and baby space when with the little one! I drive to the edge of the car park and take 2!!! Its so difficult trying to get a little one out in a narrow space!
I shall be visiting M&S More often! Thanks OP!DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!
Dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Quite agree, but how many people use their blue badges to do exactly the same when Great Aunt Nellie is not even in the car with them.:mad:You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't :doh:0 -
I regularly try to park in disabled spaces only to find that they are full of people without blue badges. It does annoy me, but then again I don't mind pushing my wife's wheelchair an extra hundred yards really. I feel very lucky that I'm able to. It's the disabled people who have no assistance that I get angry for.
This reminds me of a Bill Bryson book I read recently. He was commenting on people who spend half an hour driving around supermarket car parks in order to get a space close to the entrance. Then went on to laugh at the people who do likewise at the gym, thus ensuring the shortest possible walk to the treadmill.0 -
Well done M & S for doing their bit, it's up to the general public to ensure they are used correctly. Unfortunately these days you will always get lazy swines who are too fat or lazy to use spaces more than a few yards from an entrance.
I do not understand supermarkets providing pick up points close to entrances, these are often parked in by lazy people who obviously think they are more important than anyone else.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -
to be honest as a mum I wouldnt care where the mother and toddler parking spaces were, so long as there was a safe designated walk way to the shop. they can be at the complete opposite end of the car park for all I care, it would stop the lazy gits from using our wider spaces.
Maybe the spaces outside the shops should be reserved for 10 minute parking only ?
It enfuriates me when mums park in the wider spaces, but leave thier kids in the car while they dash in for 10 minutes !!! GRR !!!0 -
Kittie - if you are happy for me to I will park next to you next time I'm down in Cardiff and get my 16 month in and out of the car. I apologise in advance for the paint marks and dents left due to me having to open the rear door fully to get access, but I'm sure you'll understand.0
