Mortgage Brokers - Anyone used Just Mortgages?

Hi,

This is my first post so please excuse any incorrect etiquette.

I'm about to buy a flat and I recently had a meeting with Just Mortgages brokers - justmortgages.co.uk

They work out of Haart estate agents offices but are "independent" (they will still work for you if you go with a different estate agent). I was quite impressed with the service they offer. Their initial search suggested much better rates than I'd been able to find on my own and I'm keen on the fact they take care of everything relating to lenders, solicitors, surveys and estate agents. They offered a one off fee of £495 for a £350,000 flat in London, which seemed comparable to other fees I'd seen.

My only issue is, I can't find any reviews of Just Mortgages online and I don't want to sign up for their service without hearing a second opinion. Does anyone have any experience of this broker or know whether this deal sounds reasonable?

Thanks

Jack

I would try and find a fee free broker who really is independent and does not work from the same office as an estate agent who is representing the seller! Depending on the size of your mortgage you should not be paying a fee.
  • Will a fee-free broker still offer all the additional services of coordinating everything between the solicitor, lender, estate agent etc? Or do they just point you in the direction of the best mortgage and leave you sort everything out? I don't really understand how that works - who ultimately pays fee-free brokers?
