Parking ticket - need help

Hi there,
Received a parking ticket for parking in a disabled spot (see picture).

I have attached photos to show that there is no disabled symbol in the parking spot and as you can see there is no extra space by the right hand side of the car which would suggest this is not a disabled spot. It would appear that this is just a spot next to a disabled spot and not an actual disabled spot itself as there is no separation between disabled and normal parking spaces.
I can see that the line at the front and the back are yellow which I didn't see when parking as I assumed this could not be a disabled spot.
Is there any regulation on road markings for disabled spaces?
Is there any chance of winning if I appeal?
Thanks in advance

council ticket or private?
See your point the markings are crap, if this was a true disabled space, then just as the others there would be extra room on both sides.
In quite a few cases the driver can be able bodied and the passenger may not.
As for the regulations on road markings, theres plenty of them with all sorts of details, however private car parks are un regulated and any markings or signage is nothing more than a requestFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Is this a council parking ticket or a private parking company parking ticket? Important in relation to future direction and advice. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The ticket is from Leeds City council
Thanks for clearing up that point.
As we tend to major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate).
PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.

although you have provided an excellent photo looking out form the space, what does it look like from a drivers point of view? From the Plain Language Commission:

You need to post a new topic on pepipoo forum with those pictures and more importantly, pics of BOTH SIDES of the PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
